frankbeswick There is an advantage with the iMac if you are a designer. Windows based computers are fine for simple based needs. Though Apple does have less security issues, you need to make sure that you have all the updates and security on ...

Growing Plants in Straw Bales
Never risk your back. I think that Anna Pavord, the gardening writer, had it right. For many years she insisted that she would take no help in tending her large garden, but do all the heavy work herself. She made no allowances for being female, ...

Growing Plants in Straw Bales
Another great idea for growing vegetables! I certainly wouldn't risk my back carrying a straw bale, but I can see the value of the concept. And I didn't realize the important different between straw and hay - makes me wonder if I got hay instead ...

Growing Plants in Straw Bales
They sure would rot, but the decaying straw is a plant nutrient source. I suggest that in your hot and humid Florida environment you place the bales in wooden frameworks to keep them in place.

Olmec Colossal Heads
I wish I had a sense of how hard it is to sculpt in basalt. Some Web sites say that it's an "extremely hard volcanic rock" but I've found that it contains feldspar, and feldspar has a hardness of 6 on the Mohs scale, so not huge. But then again ...
