Laudato Si: reflections on the papal encyclical
This is the most challenging review that I have undertaken, as I struggled to do justice to the thinking in the 1500 words or so that are upper limit of the proper length for reviews.

Execution of Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey: Henry VIII’s Last Victim
It all stems from The Tudor fears and awareness of their very weak claims to the throne. Henry felt that it would take a strong male to keep their dynasty going. Their dynasty was indeed short lived, only 118 years. The previous dynasty, The ...

Laudato Si: reflections on the papal encyclical
It is interesting to see that the Pope gives guidance on many issues and not just moral ones which are the ones that receive all the publicity.

Mardi Gras Doubloons
I used to have quite a few doubloons from when I lived in the quarter. Not sure what I did with them, though. They were always such fun to catch, along with the beads, of course.

Shipwreck: the Edmund Fitzgerald
Thank you so much for your kind comment. Big Fitz was quite a ship, and the song reminds us of the dangers of a seaman's life.

The Aurora: Northern and Southern Lights
There was a report on TV yesterday that the northern lights could be seen from much farther south than usual last night. But the area didn't include Florida. Sure wish it had, but the videos in your article were a good substitute.

Five Intriguing World Lighthouses
It sure is! Our son an daughter in law recently visited Morocco, and I tried to get them to put a visit to the Cap Spartel light on their list, but they didn't get to the coast to see it.

Some of the Cheapest Jewelry on Amazon (Under One Dollar) Can Make Cool Christmas Gifts
I would like to see dragonflies with more precious stones, or at least more colorful. I took a look on Amazon and they do have many such examples. I am tempted now to buy myself a pendant :)
