Displaying vs. Storing Your Vino

DISPLAYING WINE in a WINE CADDIE

The special nautical holders that you see here on this page are meant for the display of your wine, as opposed to long term storage of unopened bottles to be used later on.

STORING UNOPENED WINE

If you are in the habit of purchasing wine months in advance of its use, you'll want to make sure you are storing it correctly. Keep unopened bottles in a cool place and laid in a horizontal position, away from direct sunlight.

How cool is cool? Wine experts say 55 to 58 degrees F is best.

In the video below, Bill Coy, a columnist who writes about wine, gives us his tips for keeping wine fresh after it's been opened.

Coy explains just what to do so you can enjoy Tuesday's wine again on Thursday, without providing any unpleasant surprises for your taste buds.

Lighthouses

“A lighthouse is not interested in who gets its light! It just gives it without thinking! Giving light is its nature!”

Lighthouse Elegance and Inspiration

Gift idea for Wine Lovers

Lighthouses are not only a favorite nautical symbol, they're also inspirational. The light from the beacons of these towers has saved many a life as it provided reliable guidance to safe harbor.

This one's an elegantly and almost reaches to the level of a work of art.  Of all the ones shown on this page, it's my absolute favorite! Not only does it hold three bottles of wind in the lighthouse tower, but the roof of the keeper's dwelling provides a place for a pair of your favorite stemmed glasses.

Whether you set this piece on a home bar, a sideboard, or a countertop, it will stand elegantly at the ready for that before or after dinner drink with your sweetheart or special friend.

There is nothing more nautically appropriate than a lighthouse. They're universally loved by seafarers, coastal residents, and even history buffs.

I love nautical themed items!

I was just at a vineyard not too far from us in New York State, there are a few in the area. We did a bit of wine tasting there, and admired the fields of almost ripened grapes protected from birds by a loud air cannon...we thought there was a shooting range nearby. Love you nautically themed wine items.

I like the one that can hold two bottles since one could be red and the other white allowing a choice.
