Sid the Science Kid is a PBS Kids Show for preschoolers and kindergarten kids produced by Jim Henson productions. The show aims to educate young children about science in the same way that Sesame Street has encouraged literacy and numeracy. The show is set it Sid's home and his preschool with Miss Susie and each episode teaches the kids a new bit of science including biology, health and physics.
We think this is brilliant. Most people manage to achieve basic numeracy and literacy by adulthood, but science is another matter. Many adults have very little understanding of science. Hopefully kids who watch Sid the Science kid will grow up loving science and will always be observing and asking questions about the world.
Scientific discoveries have made our lives much more pleasant (yes there have been some problems too) and we'll keep making progress generation after generation. The more our kids understand about science the faster the progress will be. So we love Sid the Science Kid!

Natalie, some of the sellers on Amazon do ship internationally. If you look at the product description you'll see something like "33 new" (the actual number will probably be different.) Click on it to see a list of sellers for the item and then look for international. At the moment there are sellers that offer international shipping for the talking Sid the Science Kid. Hope that helps.
