Star Wars Costumes for Kids

This officially licensed costume from Rubies features a tunic shirt with lots of detail and pants with attached boots (to be worn over shoes.)

Note that the Light Sabre is purchased separately. And you can also get Anakin's glove for an extra touch of realism. 

Padme Amidala is the main female lead in Star Wars Episodes 1-3. She is the young Queen of Naboo and she and Anakin Skywalker fall in love. 

This Padme Amidala costume is from Star Wars Clone Wars and is a white jumpsuit. Note that reviewers have not been impressed with the best/holster that comes with this outfit. The blaster needs to be bought separately and there is a version (below) that includes a holster and blaster. 

The Clone Troopers are the bad guys in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. This is a very cool costume and being a bad guy might be appropriate for Halloween. The Clone Trooper is a more obvious choice as a boy's costume, but with the helmet a girl might well choose it - why not!

This Clone Trooper costume features a detailed jumpsuit which works to great effect. The injection molded helmet / mask is very menacing! This costume gets good reviews for value for money, but reviewers suggest you go up a size if you need to fit a layer of thin clothing or thermal underwear for trick or treating in October. 

And of course, no Clone Trooper feels dressed without his blaster. 

Luke Skywalker is the hero of the original Star Wars episodes, and the whole series really. Luke is a great choice for a kids Star Wars costume. 

Luke Skywalker and um, his father, make a great Star Wars costume combo. I'm avoiding a spoiler there, but if you're a Star Wars fan you'll know who I mean. 

The Luke Skywalker costume from Rubies includes and tunic short with belt detail and pants that have boot tops built in. 

The blue light sabre must be bought separately and there's also a kids Jedi Cloak available - great for trick or treating on a chilly fall night. 

Princess Leia is the main female character in Star Wars Episodes IV-VI. She and Luke Skywalker are twins so Luke and Leia make great brother and sister Star Wars costumes. 

This girl's Pricess Leia costume includes a long white robe with a belt and also a Princess Leia wig with her trademark hairstyle. 

Darth Vader is the bad guy from Star Wars Episodes IV-VI. He's a Jedi Knight who has lost his way and moved over to the dark side. Darth Vader is a very visually distinctive character and sure to be a spooky success on Halloween. 

This Darth Vader costume has a black printed jumpsuit with shoe covers as it's main piece. There's also a long black cape, a belt and of course a Darth Vader helmet / mask. The mask is designed so that kids can get plenty of air. 

Tip: Practise Darth Vaders characteristic breathing for extra realism. My toddler son loves to do his Darth Vader impression!

And of course Darth Vader isn't complete without his trademark red light sabre.
