The reason I mention upgrading is because I really believe that masticating and twin gear juicers make a higher grade juice than centrifugal juicers due to the juicing mechanism. The juice made by masticating or twin gear juicers has better enzyme quality and is less oxidized, which means it has more nutritional value. However, the good masticating juicers cost round $300. On the other hand you can get a good centrifugal juicer for around $150.

Unless you're going for a citrus juicer which will only make orange juice, then you won't find a good juicer for around $40 - $70. I have seen some centrifugal juicer models by lesser known brands that cost around $80-$90, but they came with some pretty mixed reviews. On the other hand, Breville makes a pretty decent juicer that you can generally find on sale for under $150.

Breville BJE200XL Review

The Breville BJE200XL is the cheap Breville juicer that I recommend. It makes a great juicer if you're just about to start juicing, or you want to give someone a juicer as a gift. It's a centrifugal juicer, which I think is slightly inferior to a masticating or twin gear juicer, but then again the best juicer on the market for your needs is going to vary based on your preferences.

Breville is a great brand and they don't compromise their reputation with shoddy products, and although the BJE200XL is cheap compared to other juicers, it's still a high quality juicer. It lacks some "frills" that are available in other high end models but it does do a good job of making juice!

The BJE200XL is a high speed juicer which will make drinks in 5 seconds flat - unlike masticating and twin gear juicers which take around 5 minutes. All parts of this juicer are dishwasher safe, but you can just rinse out the parts after making your juice. This is very important regarding cleaning any juicer - if you leave them dirty too long the juice can dry up on the blades which makes cleaning difficult.

The Breville juicer comes with a cleaning brush to help you get the filter basket squeaky clean and it also comes with an 800ml juice jug which has a built in froth separator. This is quite nifty because centrifugal juicers do tend to make a bit more foam. If you want to have the foam you can just remove the top part of the juice jug and you'll have foam on top of your juice.

The instruction booklet comes with a recipe guide and has recipes for some tasty juices as well as some alcoholic drinks you can make with this juicer!
