Halloween DVDs for Toddlers

We all know that toddlers have their favorites that they want morning, noon and night. This makes "favorite" DVDs are good choice for Halloween. 

This DVD has loved characters like Dora, Diego, Yo Gabba Gabba and Blue’s Clues. So if your toddler has more than one children's character they love a DVD like this makes a great pick for Halloween.

The DVD is 120 minutes and is made up of 15 and 30 minute programs. So it's not too long for a toddler to concentrate on when each show is watched separately.  

It's not just preschool kids that love Dora. Many toddlers also love her. So if you have a toddler that's mad about Dora there are Halloween DVDs that feature Dora the Explorer. 

This DVD is 97 minutes long and has two Dora Halloween stories on it. This might be a little long for younger toddlers. But older toddlers who love their Dora will be up for it. 

Amazon has a few Dora related DVDs for Halloween. So check them out if you have big Dora fans at home.

I couldn't have an article on toddler DVDs without including Thomas the Tank Engine. 

This Thomas the Tank Engine DVD has 67 minutes of spooky episodes for Halloween. Of course with Thomas the stories are interesting and exciting for toddlers. But they aren't scary for them. So this DVD is a good choice for a younger toddler or a Thomas the Tank Engine lover. 

Amazon also has this Halloween Adventures DVD as part of a Double Halloween Feature DVD. This little train also appears in the Halloween Spooktacular DVD (I've included links to both DVDs in this article).

Many toddler safe Halloween DVDs are animated ones. But not all animated DVDs are good for toddlers. Many are made for preschool and school age kids. This means they may be too scary (or just not interesting) for toddlers. So take care when buying one - even one I've recommended here. Because every toddler is different. 

There are some great classic animated Halloween stories for toddlers. Madeline is one classic kids' character. She features in Madeline's Halloween And Other Spooky Tales DVD.

This DVD Is 110 minutes long and has 5 spooky Madeline stories. So they're about 20 minutes each. A good length for a toddler. 

Barney is another character I had to include. The biggest fans of Barney are toddlers so even if your toddler isn't a Barney fan yet they would probably love this Halloween DVD. 

Barney's Halloween Party isn't just fun. It's also a good DVD to introduce toddlers to Halloween. It can help toddlers understand Halloween traditions like the costumes and trick or treating - but in a way that's fun and safe for a toddler. 

So this DVD is a great pick regardless of whether your toddler loves Barney yet or not.

Sesame Street is another toddler essential I had to include. But it may not work for every toddler. 

It's 60 minutes of the Sesame Street gang exploring Halloween. So it's another children's DVD that can help a toddler understand what Halloween is all about. But it's not strictly for toddlers like the Barney DVD. This means some toddlers might take a while to warm up to it. Others might need to wait until they're a bit older. Others may love it.

If you have children aged between 2 and 8 this might be a better DVD for you than the Barney one. This is because this Sesame Street DVD is interesting enough for older children without being inappropriate for toddlers. 

There's also some fun Halloween DVDs that aren't as well known as the popular characters like Dora, Thomas and Barney. But these DVDs are loved by toddlers so they're worth having a look at. 

The parent reviews on Amazon are especially useful for these lesser known DVDs. If your toddler is a Thomas the Tank Engine fan it's a pretty easy guess that they'll like a Thomas Halloween DVD (although it's still good to check out the reviews). But when you don't know the characters in the lesser known DVDs it can be more difficult to guess toddler likes and dislikes. The reviews give you other parents experiences to help make a decision.
