iPad vs Samsung Tablet 2023

Comparing the new iPad air to Samsung tablets in performance and quality.

Since you landed on this page, I am assuming that you are in the market for a new tablet and you are trying to decide whether to get the iPad 4 or a Samsung tablet. In my opinion there are two Samsung models that can be compared to Apple's newest iPad as far as equality goes. The newest iPad is the 4th generation and it is what I will use in this comparison. The two models of Samsung are going to be the Galaxy Tab 3 and the Galaxy Note 10.1.

At first glance one might start to compare the pricing with iPad being more expensive than the Samsung models. Another comparison right out of the gate would be that they both run on different operating systems. The iPad is run on Apple's own software and the Samsungs operate on Android. Those are the first things that are different. But when looking to purchase one of these three tablets which is going to be the best for your needs? Only you will be able to make the final determination after you have looked at the comparisons, here.

Let's start with the Samsung Tab and the iPad

I would say that hands down the iPad 4 beats the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 in choices for a tablet. Sure the price is more for the Apple product but you are getting a quality built device that is going to hold up to use.

It isn't that the Samsung GalaxyTab is a bad tablet. It is just built with plastic instead of the aluminum of the iPad. So, the Tab feels cheap. It is slimmer than the iPad if that makes a difference.

As far as speed goes, the iPad wins hands down in that department. It runs quick and does the work you want it to in lighting fast speed. The Samsung Tab 3 lags when you have several apps running at the same time.

Also the resolution on the screen is far superior in the Apple iPad than on the Samsung. Don't get me wrong the Samsung has pretty good display it just does not compare to what you get with the iPad.

iPad next to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

The competition gets a little stiffer when you compare the Galaxy Note 10.1 by Samsung to the new iPad 4. I would have to say that these two are closer in equality than the Galaxy Tab is. As far as performance goes the iPad is still faster but there are some drawbacks to it.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 is still encased in plastic but that makes it lighter in weight. The resolution is just as good if not a little better than the iPad and the Samsung has more interesting appeal when it comes to having your apps displayed.

The Samsung still lags a little where the iPad does not. Here is what wins it for me for a Galaxy Note, though. The iPad can not be upgraded for memory but the Samsung can be. There is a place to attach a SD card that will increase your hard memory.

The S Pen feature on the Samsung is what puts this model over the top in my opinion. There is just so much that you can do with it that can not be done on the iPad.

The price of the Samsung is about $100 less and personally I think it wins the test for a choice in a tablet over the iPad.
