This sounds like a good read, and I've added it to my list of books to look for at the library. I enjoy a good page-turning thriller now and then to balance out the literary fiction and wilderness survival books I read (and I suppose the latter can read like a thriller, too).

Good advice, it's not impressive to sit like a dummy when you're asked if you have any questions. I can remember being embarrassed at interviews when I first started work when I was asked this.

That is really interesting. I'd never heard of calculating longitude using a fist. If it was late morning here in the UK, I'd be outside trying your method.

No, I hadn't thought of listing the Harlan Coben's work but, now that you mention it, that would be a good idea. If you haven't read any of the earlier books, I think you can still enjoy his later novels but, of course, it does add to the story if you know what has happened to the two main characters in earlier novels. I'll think about doing what you suggest.

I really enjoyed reading this. My Cousin Edna tried to get me interested in collecting things. First it was American coins, and she got me a lot of those blue coin albums. I did that for a couple of years, but lost interest later on. I did stamps for a while, and still can't bear to through a lovely stamp away. I passed these things to my kids and have no idea where they are now. I do still collect postcards, but don't pay much attention to the collection anymore. Somehow there's just not time. I most enjoy the old postcards where people actually wrote on them and mailed them.

If I could be said to collect anything, it would probably be books, but I collect them for their content -- not their age or condition. We collect certain authors and subjects. I really should weed through these and make some space for what I really use by clearing out what I know now I will probably never read.

Sounds like something I'd enjoy, but I always like to start with the first book by an author if the books are such that you will enjoy later books more if you've read them in order. Have you thought of listing the books by this author in a recommended reading order?

I'm afraid I'm one of those who looks at the pictures on the book covers -- even for the aging crowd, and think "That's just not me." I enjoy walking, but I hate any kind of exercise class because it's hard for me to imitate what the teacher is doing. I also find ti difficult to make appointments when my work schedule is so unpredictable. Medical appointments are hard enough to squeeze in.

I am so pleased that Kathy has finally got her beautiful smile back! I too suffered this condition for 7 years and after 4 years of Botox injections, I found a wonderful surgeon at Leeds General Infirmary in England who performed MVD surgery on me in Dec 2010 and am finally spasm free!
I hope your story and my experience will help anyone who is suffering from this condition and give them some hope of a cure.

You know, I've lived in Flagstaff, 2 hours south of Page/Lake Powell, for seven years, been to Page a number of times and the Grand Canyon many, many times, but I've never walked over to the Horseshoe Bend overlook. I definitely need to change that!

Separating laundry by colors is a big plus. I love the net laundry sorters. The air gets to circulate more.

I continue to struggle with who I'm going to be when I grow up, i.e. pinning down my personal brand. I do know what I enjoy doing best and really need to be able to monetize that (I may speak more specifically about that later). I also know how much time and energy I have (not as much as I had even a few years ago) and that has forced me to not over-commit. As for a personal branding tip, I think that using the same avatar and screen name across multiple sites is a good idea. You see that I'm using a different picture here than I use on Squidoo, so that's part of my identity crisis. I guess I'm just trying to grow up!
