Birthday Party Ideas for Boys

Make sure you have plenty of activities organized for a boy's birthday party. If lots of the guests are boys it can get pretty wild if they don't have something constructive to do!

Some kind of scavenger hunt or treasure hunt works well. And if you need to calm them down for a bit a short video that fits with the theme can work well. 

Items like inflatable swords or balloons are great fun, but save them for the end of the party when you're about to send the kids home!

Toddler and preschooler boys often have friends who are girls as well as boys. It's not so much fun for some girls to attend a party that's really boy-themed. (Or vice-verse, my son recently attended a little girl's party and one of his male friends refused to eat of pink princess party plates!)

There are themes that work well for boys and girls. Knights and Princesses is a good one. Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Dinosaur Train and Sid the Science Kid are popular with boys and girls. 

And themes like Nature and Animal Safari are great fun for boys and girls. 

Of course some girls will prefer a traditional boys theme, but not all of them. 

You really don't want to have a load of bigger kids running around and causing chaos! They do need to be entertained. 

A party theme like science, space or nature gives the opportunity for lots of fun themed activities. They might even learn something!

And getting them to build something that fits with a theme from cardboard boxes always works well. 

A scavenger-hunt that fits with the theme works well too. It keeps them on the move, whether indoors or outdoors, and gets it them thinking and engaged with the party theme.
